Brandon Johnson, CTA is the Director of Sales & Marketing for
the Newport News Marriott at City Center. Brandon oversees
sales & marketing strategy and provides leadership, direction,
and support for the sales, catering, and event teams.
Brandon spent his formative years working in the travel agency
his family owned and managed before embarking on a career that
has included roles with leading travel and hospitality companies.
He is also very proud to be involved in leadership roles with a
number of industry associations and community organizations.
Brandon is a past Board Member with MPI Virginia and has
served on MPI’s Global Task Force for Digital Innovation as well as the first MPI Global Task for
Diversity & Inclusion.
He is currently VP of Sponsorship for the Virginia Business Travel Association, Community &
Business Liaison for Hampton City Schools Hospitality & Tourism Academy Advisory Board, and
serves on the Place Marketing Committee for the 757 Recovery & Resilience Action Framework.
Brandon is a recipient of MPI Virginia’s Meetings Industry Leadership Award. He has been named
a 2020 Millennial on the Move by CoVa Biz Magazine, a 40 Under 40 honoree for the meetings
industry by Rejuvenate Magazine, MPI Virginia’s Young Professional of the Year, and has twice
been nominated for an MPI RISE Award.
